Week 21 May 2013

I’m late posting this weeks blog as I have been away for a few days with very “ify” internet connection.
This image was taken on an old Olympus point and shoot this has been adapted to take infrared photos. I was up in the Yorkshire Dales at one of my favourite spots. Cauldron force at West Burton. Last week I had reworked an old shot of these falls to replace my first idea for trying the infrared camera. Had the camera in my bag at weekend and realised this could be a good spot to try this especially as I now have the means to get images of the camera.

Week 20 May 2013

This Week has been spent still playing with progs on Ipad. Did some more frogs using ipad and Artstudio. Have also been playing with photos re edited on the Ipad. So far not go very deep into it yet but there is lots of potential. Had original planned to post an infrared shot taken on an old Olympus point and shoot camera which has been converted of infrared took a few shots but so far not been able to look at them haven’t got a card reader that takes the memory card thats in it and I also haven’t got a cable for camera. So until such time as a cable arrives I will have to post an Ipad photo.

This is West Burton the waterfall there. Took the original a couple of years ago and used to play with. Used curves in one prog and then a filter in another to give a lomo effect then added a texture layer in Artstudio.

Week 19 May 2013

This week again not taken many photo’s so this weeks image is one of my first efforts using a vector drawing app on my Ipad called ink pad. Although it doesn’t look much but has been a steep learning curve. Hadn’t done any drawing for years and it was the main reason I got a tablet to perhaps start again. This drawing was from photo of frog and went from there. Not an original concept I know but served its purpose of getting to know the app better.

that was first attempt but composition not right so I cropped in PS

Wasn’t able to go far this week so this weeks offering is a tulip in the garden. At last the snow has gone and a bit of colour has arrived with the sun.

Week 15 April 2013

This weeks image is not a photo I took this week but I composite I have been working on.
In the cause of trying to improve my Photoshop skills I have been reading allsorts of books one of which suggested making a tree house. This was about 18 months ago and the idea has been on the back burner ever since. There is one rule I set myself with any composites I have done is that it all has to be my own work as far as possible, as in all elements have to be from my own stock photo’s. Sometimes its not possible. For instance I did one that needed a human skull but I don’t happen to have one handy, For that picture and other I used free stock images from a photo magazine. For this reason this project has taken a while. At first looking for a suitable tree, and then windows and doors and other bits and pieces. That's why I can sometimes be found shooting strange objects, you never know when they will come in. Then looking at other peoples images I stole the idea of a story coming out of a book. This changed the idea totally. so its always a work in progress. Its still not finished as some cleaning up is needed and I feel as if I lost the plot some what. Perhaps I’ll rework this but more likely will start it again.
